The everyday electrical work

Lighting & power points in Pakenham & Cardinia.

LED downlight upgrades, new power points, ceiling fans, outdoor and sensor lighting, new circuits and renovation electrical. The bread-and-butter jobs that make a Cardinia home brighter, safer and better to live in — done tidily, to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules, with a Certificate of Electrical Safety.

What we install.

  • LED downlight upgrades — swap power-hungry, fire-risk halogens for cool-running 7–12W LEDs. Dimmable and tunable-white where you want it.
  • New power points — doubles, quads, USB-C outlets, weatherproof outdoor points, dedicated appliance circuits.
  • Ceiling fans — supply and install, including new fan points where none exist. Welcome relief on 40°C Pakenham summer days.
  • Outdoor & sensor lighting — security floodlights, garden and path lights, outdoor entertaining-area lighting.
  • New circuits — for ovens, cooktops, air conditioning, pool pumps, sheds and studios, run back to the switchboard.
  • Renovation electrical — rough-in and fit-off coordinated with your builder, or the full job standalone.

Why downlight upgrades matter on the estates.

A lot of Cardinia Lakes, Lakeside and Heritage Springs homes still run their original halogen downlights — 20 to 30 of them at around 50W each. They draw a lot of power, fail often, and get hot enough to be a recognised roof-space fire risk. Swapping to modern LEDs cuts each light to 7–12W, runs cool, lasts far longer and noticeably trims the lighting bill. On a typical family home it’s one of the most worthwhile small jobs you can book.

A worked example.

A Cardinia Lakes living room: swap 6 old halogen downlights for dimmable LEDs and add two new double power points for the entertainment wall. A few hours’ work, around $700–$900 all up, tested and certified. If the wall needs a fresh circuit rather than an extension of an existing one, we run cable back to the board — and if the board is already full, that’s often the cue for a switchboard upgrade at the same time.

Renovation & new-build fit-off.

With around 255 new dwellings a year across the corridor, plus a wave of early-2000s homes being renovated rather than sold, there’s a constant need for fit-off and reno electrical. We do new-build fit-off, kitchen and bathroom renovation wiring, home-office and study power, data points, exhaust fans, and shed or studio power on the larger Officer, Heritage Springs and Beaconsfield blocks. Everything is RCD-protected and certified.

Outdoor & entertaining.

Cardinia families spend their summers outdoors. We install weatherproof outdoor power points, sensor security floodlights, garden and path lighting, and lighting and power for outdoor entertaining areas. Outdoor circuits must be RCD-protected and weather-rated, which we install to standard — and if a job turns up a fault, we can fold it into a quick safety check rather than leaving it.
